Expert South Bend Chiropractor

Dr. Alan Leichter is the owner and operator of Leichter Chiropractic, headquartered in South Bend, Indiana.

When it comes to non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical solutions for addressing chronic pain, injuries, arthritis, weight loss, dizziness, headaches, wellness, etc., Leichter Chiropractic is a local leader.

Dr. Leichter is graduate of the most recognized chiropractic training in the world, Palmer Chiropractic College, where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.

When it comes to healthcare, nothing takes the place of experience. After years of working for others, Dr. Leichter hung his shingle in South Bend and began accepting patients nearly 30 years ago.

As a young person, Alan Leichter had chosen to be a doctor. When his father suggested that chiropractors seemed to be happy people, these words of encouragements prompted Alan to explore the opportunities. After studying the art of chiropractic care, this healthcare practice became Dr. Leichter’s passion.

MEET DR. LEICHTER

In over thirty years of practice, I have seen quite a variety of conditions.  I have been able to help people walk when they could barely move due to pain.  I have helped relieve near blinding headaches, as well as severe pain and numbness in the extremities.  I have helped some strengthen their weak immune systems and guided many through weight loss of thirty pounds and more, and helped some begin exercise regimens that changed their lives by creating increased vitality and vigor.

Chiropractic is not just about helping people heal from back pain.  It is about bringing the body back to a healthier state.  It involves helping improve sleep habits, work posture, sitting posture, eating habits, exercise and mental state.

There are three facets to chiropractic.  These are science, art and philosophy.  This means that no two chiropractors are exactly alike.  The art of spinal manipulation is unique to each chiropractor.  My philosophy involves very specific adjustment of the spine using manual techniques, with the goal of improving the motion of the spine and relieving nerve interference.  Then it is necessary to rehabilitate the area to strengthen the joints and surrounding tissues in order to improve spinal stability. I then evaluate eating habits and nutrition to determine and improve any imbalances.  I also evaluate the ergonomics of the patient’s work environment and leisure habits.

Since 1989, Leichter Chiropractic has helped the South Bend community to relieve pain, improve vitality and lead more productive, healthier lives.  I have had long standing relationships with many of my patients, some of whom have been coming to me since we opened the doors.  I love the work I do and look forward to many more years in service to Michiana.

Yours for better health,

Dr. Alan S. Leichter
